The Ivalas Quartet was awarded 1st Prize of the strings division as well as Grand Prize of the senior division at the 2022 Coltman Competition in Austin, Texas.
Named after Austin Chamber Music Center founder, Felicity Coltman, the annual nationwide Coltman Chamber Music Competition provides performance experience and expert commentary to advanced applicants. Winners of the competition are offered a cash prize in addition to multiple performance opportunities including a live-broadcast on KMFA 89.5.
The 9th Annual Coltman Competition was held in-person at The University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music on March 26 & 27 of 2022. The Ivalas Quartet was awarded the first place of the Senior String Division as well as the overall Grand Prize. Ivalas is thrilled with the opportunity to come back to Austin in 2023 to perform at the Austin Chamber Music Center for their regular concert series.
